Fasteners are made from a wrought alloy of nickel,
chromium, and molybdenum with added tungsten for greater overall corrosion
resistance than most other alloys of a like composition. Hastelloy Fasteners

Hastelloy is one of the best nickel-based steel alloys with
great corrosion resistance. Hastelloy Fasteners typically find good use across a wide
range of chemical applications that may otherwise oxidise the metal in addition to
outstanding resistance to all manner of pitting and cracking. An alloy's composition is
completed by additional substances like molybdenum and chromium, which is commonly
considered as one of the world's toughest alloys. 2100 degrees Fahrenheit is the ideal
temperature range for hot forging Hastelloy Fasteners. After forging, a solution heat
treatment should be carried out. A solution anneal heat treatment should be done after
hot working. Although stiffer than austenitic stainless steels, Hastelloy Fastener has
very strong ductility, making cold working the preferred method of forming. In cases
when work hardening results from severe cold working, a solution heat treatment can be
performed to return the alloy's original mechanical properties.
Hastelloy is also used in the following sectors: Chemical Process,
petrochemical, Oil & Gas, pharmaceutical, geothermal, Sea Water, Water Desalination,
LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas), Biomass, Mining, Utilities, Nuclear Power and Solar Power.
