The Incoloy 800 is frequently used to build equipment that must have corrosion resistance, heat resistance, durability, and stability for service up to 1500°F (816°C). Because of its nickel concentration, alloy 800 resists stress corrosion cracking in addition to providing general corrosion resistance to many aqueous environments. There are two distinct iron-nickel-chromium alloys called Alloy 800H/800HT. They are normally sold as a single, dual-certified alloy that satisfies the chemical composition standards of both alloys.
The restricted aluminum and titanium content in 800HT results in stronger creep and stress rupture qualities, which is the main distinction between alloys 800H and 800HT. Numerous applications involving exposure to corrosive conditions and high temperatures employ Incoloy Alloy 800/ H / HT. It is employed for heating fixtures, trays, and other equipment. The alloy is utilized in chemical and petrochemical processes, specifically when resistance to chloride stress-corrosion cracking is required, for heat transfer and other pipe systems in a nitric acid environment. It is employed for the steam-generator tubes in nuclear power reactors.
