Hastelloy is an alloy made of nickel. Because nickel is present in it, it has a very high level of corrosion resistance. Hastelloy is also regarded as a superalloy because of its excellent corrosion resistance. Nickel, molybdenum, iron, tungsten, and chromium are the main elements of the alloy. These elements work together to make it resistant to corrosion at high temperatures as well as when there are strong oxidizing or reducing chemicals present. Other characteristics of Hastelloy include its strong durability even in a highly reducing environment, exceptional mechanical strength, good resistance to thermal creep deformation, surface stability, etc.

Hastelloy Forged Fittings

Hastelloy fasteners are resistant to oxidizing conditions because they contain chromium. Due to the low carbon concentration, grain carbide precipitation is not as common in Hastelloy fasteners. It is utilized in nuclear and chemical reactors as well as the pipes and valves of various chemical industries because of its excellent resistive qualities. Due to their resistance to acetic acid, hydrochloric acid, sulphuric acid, forming acid, and other acids, Hastelloy fasteners are also advised for use in the textile and paper industries.

Hastelloy fasteners should be used instead of stainless steel ones because they have higher resistance and cost less to replace. Hastelloy fasteners are more expensive than other fasteners, but because of how rarely they need to be replaced, they are more economically viable.
