A solid solution-reinforced nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloy with a trace amount of tungsten is known as alloy Hastelloy C-276. Excellent corrosion resistance is displayed by alloy C-276 in several challenging environments and media. It is ductile, ready made, and weldable, like many other nickel alloys. Most industrial locations where there are hostile chemical conditions present and other alloys have failed to employ this alloy.
Pitting, stress corrosion cracking, and oxidizing environments are better avoided when using alloy C-276. In crevice settings, which might result in aggressive attack in other frequently used materials, Alloy C-276 also demonstrates resistance to corrosion by seawater. Numerous industries, such as those that process chemicals and petrochemicals, produce oil and gas, produce electricity, make pulp and paper, or process wastewater, regularly use Nickel Alloy C-276.
