Nickel-iron-chromium bar (Incoloy 800, 800H, and 800HT)
has good strength and great resistance to oxidation and carburization in
high-temperature exposure. Except for the greater carbon content in alloy
800H and the addition of up to 1.20 percent alluminium and titanium in alloy
800HT, these nickel steel bars are identical. The earliest of these alloys
was Alloy 800 Pipe, which was slightly changed to become Incoloy
800H. This change was made to optimize stress rupture
properties by controlling carbon content (0.05 percent -0.10%) and grain
size. Incoloy 800HT features additional modifications to the combined
titanium and alluminium levels to guarantee optimal high temperature
characteristics.

Incoloy 800 is typically
utilised in applications that require a temperature tolerance of 1100° F. When
resistance to creep and rupture is required, the alloys 800H and 800HT are commonly
utilised. The chemical balance of the nickel steel alloy ensures that it is resistant to
carburization, oxidation, and nitrating environments. The cold forming properties of
800HT bars are similar to Ni-Cr alloys, and it may be welded using typical techniques.
These bars are widely utilised in a variety of industries, including
oil and gas, petrochemical, medical, food, paper, machinery, natural gas, and so on.
Organic acids are well tolerated by Incoloy 800HT
alloy bars ; however hydrochloric acid resistance is limited.
Excellent corrosion resistance in both oxidizing and non-oxidizing salts, with the
possibility of halide spot corrosion. In addition to water, steam, and a mixture of
steam, air, and carbon dioxide, it has excellent corrosion resistance.
