Monel K500 is a precipitation-hardening nickel-copper alloy that has the same good corrosion resistance as Monel Alloy 400 as well as enhanced strength and hardness values that can be maintained at temperatures up to 650 oC. In comparison to alloy 400, alloy K-500 has a yield strength that is almost three times higher and a tensile strength that is twice as high.

Additionally, cold working before precipitation hardening can strengthen it even more. This nickel steel alloy maintains its toughness and ductility down to 400° F while maintaining its strength to 1200° F. The melting point range is 2400–2600 °F.
