Even in the harshest settings, Duplex Steel & Alloys’s SS 310 Pipe provides outstanding corrosion and heat resistance.
Grade 310 stainless steel is an austenitic stainless steel with excellent high-temperature qualities, as well as outstanding ductility and weldability. Type 310 stainless steel pipes are commonly utilised in high-temperature applications.
Grade 310S is a low-carbon substitute for grade 310. When wet corrodents are present in the application environment, it is employed at lower temperatures. However, the decreased carbon content of stainless steel grade 310S diminishes its high-temperature strength when compared to 310.
The 310-grade steel pipes' high chromium and nickel content provide outstanding corrosion and oxidation resistance, as well as superior strength at temperatures up to 2100°F. It is also preferable to 304 or 309 stainless pipes because of its increased chromium and nickel content.
The following are the main characteristics of SS 310/310S
Pipe:
• High Temperature: Austenitic stainless steel with exceptional oxidation resistance at
high temperatures. Continuous exposure to 2100 degrees F is recommended. Service is
available on an as-needed basis up to 1900 degrees F.
• Corrosion Resistance: Because of the high chromium concentration, it has good aqueous
corrosion resistance. Excellent resistance to oxidising and carburizing environments.
Excellent corrosion resistance at normal temperatures.
• Heat Resistance: Excellent oxidation resistance in intermittent service up to 1040°C
and continuous service up to 1150°C. Thermal fatigue and cyclic heating resistance are
excellent. Sulphur-dioxide gas is often employed in places with high temperatures.
Because of carbide precipitation, continuous usage in the 425-860°C temperature range
might decrease aqueous corrosion resistance. Typically utilised in applications with
temperatures ranging from 800 to 900°C.
