austenitic, electric furnace processed grade of stainless steel very similar in
composition to Type 321. There's a drawback in the use of grade SS 347 instead of grade

tantalum has a much longer half-life than columbium.

grade 347 buttweld fitting is an alloy that is a variation of stainless steel. These

These buttweld fitting of grade
347H is non-magnetic in the annealed state. It is suitable to be used for high-temperature
service. It can bear higher creep and stress rupture properties than surpass grades 304 and
304L. Thus, these grade fittings can be exposed to conditions where sensitization and
intergranular corrosion are a concern. SS 347H Long Stub End Buttweld Fittings of premium
quality can be hardened by cold working and not by heat treatment. Grade 347H Pipe Fittings is
feasible for welding and can be processed by standard shop fabrication.
There are several industrial applications of grade 347 & 347H buttweld fittings such as the
airplane exhaust stacks, textile industry, collector rings, annealing box covers, expansion
joints, jet engine components, tubing, fasteners, aerospace engineering, bellows, and flexible
metal hose. The major difference between Type 321 and Type 347 is that rather than having an
addition of titanium, Type 347 has an additional columbium element added to its composition.
